Contemporary Fiction
Kennedy Jackson is an aspiring writer striving to become a published author. However, her romance life is in shambles, and she is at a loss for words. When her dreams are so close to becoming a reality, her beliefs about intimacy are challenged, and she must explore all forms of love, including loving herself. Her young adult novel follows the journey of Teagan, a fictional character who symbolizes Kennedy's own experiences and struggles. They use poetry and self-reflection to see their self-worth and pursue their purpose.
Speechless
Poetry
The pain in her heart paralyzed her. Emotionally and physically, she suffered. She tried to forget, but the tears dropped. Everyone told her it's the process. With time, she’d heal. But she was impatient. Writing became her muse, and she poured her heart out on paper. Each entry, each word, brought her closer to recovery. Theresa takes us on an emotional journey, from falling in love to becoming a survivor of verbal abuse.
Her Story
T's Telling the Truth is a poetic journey of self-discovery. For most of her life, Theresa was afraid to speak up. However, after being silenced for too long, she knows the importance of telling her story. This is only a small collection of the poetry she wrote about her experience with abuse, depression, and losing loved ones. Through her writing, she learned to heal, love again, and most importantly love herself.

About the Author
"Find your voice, Know your worth, and Pursue your passion" is not only the tagline for my novel debut, "Speechless;” however, it is also my mantra. I have always been a writer. At a young age, I wrote short stories and children's books. In high school, I wrote three poems and fell in love with the freedom of putting thoughts on the page without rules or structure.
Throughout my experience at Mass College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), I took every creative writing course offered. Although I wanted to be a published author, I immersed myself in a career in higher education. I earned a Master of Education from Springfield College and spent over 10 years working with college students, providing leadership development and assisting them in achieving their goals.
Being a mother gave her more joy than anything else, so I left my career to be a mom. That fueled my desire to write again. Before long, I started writing poetry, a few novels, and a memoir.
After my divorce, I reconnected with my stories and committed to writing whatever chance I could. I no longer put my passion on hold for someone else. My dreams and desires matter. My commitment to my original goal has taken me on a healing journey and seeing my worth.
I love raising my three children and helping students get a second chance at education. However, I am grateful I made the time to write and work on my gift. I look forward to sharing my stories with all of you.
